From the same band that brought you
Saxomonica Blues, here's a second collection of smokin' blues tunes from some of the West Coast's finest blues players. And
check out: Lip Smackin' It can be heard in the feature film Expendables 2! Cool, huh?Harmonica:
Paul Michael Meredith • My dear friend, Paul, has sold hundreds of thousands of new age CDs on his own record label,
Peaceful Music. He's a smokin' harmonica player and a very talented composer. We've recorded two blues CDs together, this one and
Saxomonica Blues. Born in England in 1952, Paul came to California with his family when he was seven. His love of music was obvious in 3rd grade as he played "America the Beautiful" on the harmonica every morning as part of the class pledge of allegiance.
Guitar:
Garth Webber • What do Miles Davis, Gregg Allman, Bill Champlin, Lydia Pense/Cold Blood, Merl Saunders, John Lee Hooker, Mose Allison, Boz Scaggs and Kingfish all have in common? Guitarist Garth Webber! Garth has toured extensively: Europe and South America with Miles Davis; the good old U.S. with Bob Weir and Kingfish; and the West Coast with Gregg Allman, Lydia Pense & Cold Blood, Merl Saunders, and The Blue Meanies. He has played on commercials for Levi's Jeans, Mattel Toys, Sizzler, AM PM Mini Market and more. We recorded this CD in Garth's great sounding digital recording studio in Berkeley.
Drummer: Jimmy Sanchez • Following a 10 year stint with producer and slide guitarist Roy Rogers, Jimmy Sanchez is now the sharp stick with which Flying Other Brothers grooves are formed. The fact that he has also recorded and/or performed with Boz Scaggs, Bonnie Raitt, Dr. John, Norton Buffalo, Bob Weir, Commander Cody & the Lost Planet Airmen, Mickey Hart, David Nelson, J.J.Cale, Steve Miller, Tom Waits, Ramblin' Jack Elliott, Arlo Guthrie, Maria Muldaur, Queen Ida, T-Bone Walker, Charles Brown, Jim Chappell and many others, should give you a sense of why the FOBs are so honored and excited to be working with him! His extensive performing experience includes worldwide travels to prestigious jazz and blues festivals and concerts - in Europe, Japan, the Middle East, Indonesia, Micronesia, the Philippines, Australia, & North and South Americas.
Keyboards: Tony Lufrano Keyboardist/arranger (aka Tony Macaroni) has recorded and gigged with a multitude of well-known musical artists, including Bonnie Raitt, The Whispers, Bill Champlin, Robben Ford, Zigaboo Modeliste, Taj Mahal, Todd Rundgren, Boz Scaggs, Eddie Money, James Cotton, Otis Clay, Carla Thomas, Syl Johnson, Elvin Bishop, Little Anthony & The Imperials, The Coasters, Earl ‘Chinna’ Smith, Neil Schon, Abraxus, Booker T Jones, Johnny Johnson, Richard Berry, Zakiya Hooker, Snooks Eaglin, Ernie K-Doe, and many many more...
Bassist:
Endre Tarczy is a bass player who sets down a solid groove while adding exquisitely tasteful melodic accents. A veteran of the San Francisco Bay Area music scene for 17 years Endre was born and raised in San Mateo County. On any given night he can be found playing his 1958 Danelectro Longhorn Reissue in one of a number of bands. A few of the more notable ones have been John Lee Hooker, Greg Allman, Robben Ford, Napoleon Murphy Brock, Lil’ John Chrisley and the Howling Iguanas, Chris Cain, Coco Montoya, and The Count Five. Endre was voted best bassist in the 1991 South Bay Blues Awards! Also a talented songwriter, Endre wrote “The Sun,The Moon and the Flowers” which can be heard on “Tiny Universe’ by Karl Densons.
Like I said - smokin'.
Enjoy!
